Volunteers

TAKE PART IN THE EXPERIENCE

As an event volunteer you’ll enjoy a hands-on experience while earning a free ticket for yourself or someone else (varies by position). Plus you’ll get to work with some amazing people, be part of a terrific team, and you might gain a new perspective on what it means to BELONG.

To volunteer, you must be at least 18 years of age. You can request a spot on a specific team (see team descriptions below) but positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and some areas fill up quickly. You’ll be working with staff members and volunteers but will probably not get up close and personal with the speakers/stage team. Check out the available positions and sign up below!

SHOP SQUAD

This is the best way to get your hands on all the great merchandise we’ll have available. (Of course, you’ll eventually have to hand it over to the buyers.) Think of it as working at your favorite store on super sale day: You’ll help people make decisions, “ring up” orders and take payments, bag items for customers, and so on.

Members of this team need to be willing and able to follow directions, handle money, use a handheld scanner for transactions, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Shop Squad members stand for extended times during breaks but you should be able to sit and enjoy the program segments from your seat in the arena.

TIMES (Mandatory): Friday 3:45 pm – 10:30 pm and Saturday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

PERKS: One (1) complimentary ticket for volunteer’s use at event and a boxed lunch on Saturday

TOUR GUIDES

Are you a people person who enjoys helping others? Do love giving directions? This could be just the job for you! Tour Guides help make the whole event run more smoothly by directing people to their seats, the nearest restroom, Lost & Found, “that booth where they have . . . ,” and more. Other duties may include helping with crowd control on the concourse, reporting any medical emergencies, and various additional tasks as assigned.

You should be able to attend the majority of the program. Note: this position requires you to be on your feet for extended periods and you must be able to climb stairs if necessary.

TIMES (Mandatory): Friday 3:45 pm – 10:00 pm and Saturday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

PERKS: One (1) complimentary ticket for volunteer’s use at event and a boxed lunch on Saturday

SERVICE SUPERSTARS

So maybe you’re not planning to attend the BELONG tour but you know someone who would love to go. Volunteer to be a Service Superstar and earn a FREE ticket for her and a friend! (Hint: Guys, this can be worth serious points.) As a member of the Service Superstars you’ll help keep the event running smoothly all weekend by helping out with things like crowd control, ticketing, box lunch distribution, and other duties as assigned.

You’ll be too busy to attend the event program, but this team always seems to enjoy themselves. You should be able to lift 25-30 pounds, follow directions, and stand for extended periods of time.

TIMES (Mandatory): Friday 3:45 pm – 10:00 pm and Saturday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

PERKS: TWO (2) complimentary tickets for volunteer’s guests; a boxed lunch on Saturday for the volunteer

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT VOLUNTEERING

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be able to commit to the entire time scheduled for your requested position. Unfortunately we are not able to use volunteers who are not able to work the entire time scheduled. Schedule varies by volunteer position.
Yes and no. You may request to be on a specific volunteer team, but positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and some areas fill up quickly. Please choose two areas of service so you have a back-up plan if your first choice is not available. You will receive a confirmation email if you are confirmed as a volunteer.
Dress code details will be in the volunteer packet sent a few weeks before the event, but plan on comfortable, closed-toe shoes, for a start. Your feet will thank you. Volunteers stand for extended periods and some positions require a lot of walking on hard surfaces.
You are responsible for any parking fees, hotel, travel, or miscellaneous expenses.
Yes! See the Service Superstars description above for details; men occasionally volunteer for other teams, as well.
Hey, things happen—we get that. But if you must cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can find a replacement. We’d prefer at least two weeks’ notice by email or, in a pinch, you can call the number included in your volunteer packet to cancel. If you have to cancel within the two-week window due to an emergency, please contact us as soon as possible.

You’re welcome to suggest a replacement for your position but that person will need to fill out a volunteer registration form and there is no guarantee that person will be accepted in your place. (We appreciate the thought, though.) Individuals already on the volunteer waiting list will be given priority when volunteer positions become available.

No, but if you have a friend or family member who also would like to volunteer—and is at least 18 years old—please invite them to apply for a volunteer position via the form on this page.
Maybe! Each volunteer on the Shop Squad and Tour Guide teams will have a seat in the arena; if you are working together (for example, you’re all working at the same product booth) your seats will probably be together. We try to keep groups of volunteers together as much as possible but sometimes a group will have to split up due to the number of positions available at a given location.
Please email your question to volunteers@belongtour.com and a Volunteer Coordinator will get back to you.
Some tour partners may need volunteers for BELONG Tour events, but you will need to contact the partner directly for information about how to go about volunteering with them.
