At 2016 BELONG Tour events, Nichole Nordeman led everyone in a time to stop, listen, and experience connection with God. It was a powerful moment. You don’t have to be at an event; you can do it anywhere, anytime . . . though you might not want to close your eyes if you’re driving.

We received so many requests for the words Nichole shared that we’ve posted them below. Since you’ll be reading this to yourself rather than hearing it, we’ve offered suggestions for moments when you might want to (Be Still). This is your time to connect with God. We invite you to open your heart and experience connection with the one who created you.

Making Room

Creator.
Architect of my heart.
Shaper of my soul.
Author of my story.

In this moment,
In this space,
I am making room for you.

I am aware of all that is around me.
I am aware of all that is inside me.
I am aware of all the noise in my heart and in my head…the beautiful noise and the distressing noise. Voices that belong to others. Voices that belong to me.  Voices of love and voices of loss.
This is the soundtrack of my life. And it is loud.

But in this moment,
In this space,
I am making room for you.

I choose silence now.
I’m only listening.

(Be Still)

Creator.
Architect of my heart.
Shaper of my soul.
Author of my story.

In this moment
In this space
I am making room for you.

I can feel my arms and they are tired of lifting.
I can feel my legs and they are tired of racing.
I can feel my hands and they are tired of doing. Always doing.
My eyes are tired of watching.
My ears are tired of straining.
My mind is tired of solving.
This is how I feel, and I am tired.

But in this moment
In this space
I am making room for you.

I choose silence now.
I’m only listening.

(Be Still)

Creator.
Architect of my heart.
Shaper of my soul.
Author of my story.

In this moment
In this space
I am making room for you.

When I do not feel safe.
You know why.
So you move closer.

When I do not feel joy.
You know why.
You comfort me.

When I do not feel peace
You know why
You calm me.

When it is too loud, you whisper
When it is too crowded, you expand
When it is too big, you lean in.

You know why because You know me.

I choose silence now.

I’m listening.

(Be Still)

I’m listening. And I can hear you.
Amen.
