While often confused with Memorial Day, Veterans Day honors those who are currently serving as well as those who have served (and are still with us). It’s an opportunity to show our appreciation…
So, the election results are in. Welcome to your new normal.
As we look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday, here are some ways to capture those sometimes fleeting moments of thankfulness and focus on our many blessings.
What fun things have you done with pumpkins? Our staff scoured the internet for alternatives to Jack-o’-Lanterns and learned that you could . .
What do you love about this season of the year? We took an informal poll at the office and came up with these . . . what would YOU add to the list?
July 1st marked the 24th anniversary of the release of the movie A League of their Own—can you believe that opened all the way back in 1992? The BELONG Tour’s resident softball aficionado looks back on that now-classic summer film, softball, and lessons she learned from them. I remember sitting in my dorm room one weekend in college, bawling my eyes out, as I watched A League of Their Own eight times. (You guys . . . 8 TIMES.) I love this story (obviously) and connect so much to this group of women who risked a lot to live their dreams. I hung up [...]
We love holidays around here. There’s usually so much light-heartedness and goodness and almost always – a reason for food. But this week with the coming holiday, conversations and feels were different. Our team stood around in a circle trying to figure out how we’d celebrate Father’s Day on the blog and show love to the men who have helped shape our lives. We talked. And talked some more. What do you love about the Easter season? The BELONG Staffers share some of their faves. Easter Fashion (Chris) - Growing up, Easter Sunday was always high church. Here’s the recipe: http://eatatallies.com/2011/04/resurrection-rolls/ Bunnies (Susan) - One Easter I got a toy rabbit [...]
Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt awkward. (Can you see us waving back at you? We get it.) In today’s post, Leslie Nunn Reed on the BELONG Tour staff shares a timely story that reminds us of a friend who said, “Inappropriate laughter is my favorite emotion.” I remember the first time: I slipped my feet into the basin of warm water. In the dimmed glow…and the quiet…the immediate, uncomfortable rush of awkwardness and vulnerability flooded me. I worried if my feet smelled…if I had remembered to shave my legs…if this exercise in humility would end soon. It really was [...]
If you’re up for a little quality time in a theater or in front of your home screen this week, check out these picks for Easter entertainment. The first two are in theaters, the rest are rent-able, and all bring a special kind of inspiration. Risen It’s been called “one of the best portrayals of Christ's death and resurrection to date” (Crosswalk.com). Risen tells the remarkable story through the eyes of an outsider—a Roman soldier who is ordered by Pontius Pilate to find Jesus’ body after it ‘mysteriously’ goes missing from the tomb. Rated PG-13 for action violence and some [...]
