How wonderfully freeing it is to have that moment when you realize that you are beautiful.
“That July began the invitation to a new way of living, and each subsequent July has been a reset, a recalibration, a deeper invitation.”
It's launch week for BELONG Team speaker and friend, Shauna Niequist and her brand new book, Present Over Perfect. Last week, Shauna celebrated with an online launch party where she shared the story behind the book, the music that helped her write it, and what she hopes her readers take away from it. Hear from Shauna (and a few of her friends) about what it means to be present over perfect:
“Those are the things we think about with a smile before we go to sleep at night. She laughed with me, I’ll think, and I hold friendships with ones who laugh and cry with me very close to my heart.”
Hey, y’all! The BELONG Tour is coming to Charlotte on November 4-5. We scouted out some fun things to do while you’re in town…
We couldn’t wait for Columbus, so we're hosting BELONG TEAM LIVE—a weeklong series of Facebook Live sessions featuring each of our BELONG speakers.
Something to reflect on from BELONG Purpose Partner, Life Reimagined.
"The story I planned for my life was much different," Nicole says, "but what’s been written is more than I could have ever hoped for."
"The heart of human excellence often begins to beat when you discover a pursuit that absorbs you, frees you, challenges you, or gives you a sense of meaning, joy, or passion." Last month, I stood on stage in front of a theater full of accomplished businesspeople, activists, doctors, and influencers and shared that as an educated, professional woman, I enjoy playing with clothes. I may not have used those exact words, but still, the admission of this as a passion was quite a departure from anything I’d ever shared publicly in a professional space. I mean, I’m Chris the writer. [...]
BELONG Staffers have already enjoyed several of these fun things in St. Paul and hope to do more when BELONG rolls into town on October 21-22. Will we see you there?
It’s no secret that several of our speakers (and some of our staff, for that matter) love to cook. And just about all of us love to eat. A while back, BELONG speaker Shauna Niequist posted a recipe . . .
"When I think of what it means to 'experience connection' that’s what comes to mind . . . listening to women talk and slowly coming to the realization that 'they’re like ME!'"
“I felt the distinct impression that there were two stories to tell. Both would be truthful and accurate, but one was more transparent . . . and would require greater vulnerability on my part, and greater acceptance by those listening. “
Wondering how the BELONG Tour got started . . . and why? Here’s our story.
Our attachment to life depends on our interest in it, on our sense of wonder and reverence, our enthusiasm and gratitude, and our active participation in seeking meaning.
Has this last week in the world been tough on you? It’s been that way for BELONG staffer, Chris McSwain. Today, she shares why.
With average October temps in the 80’s it’s a terrific time to visit Tampa for the BELONG Tour and also to visit some of these other fun places.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all women are created by a God who loves them, and are endowed with certain unalienable rights…
July 1st marked the 24th anniversary of the release of the movie A League of their Own—can you believe that opened all the way back in 1992? The BELONG Tour’s resident softball aficionado looks back on that now-classic summer film, softball, and lessons she learned from them. I remember sitting in my dorm room one weekend in college, bawling my eyes out, as I watched A League of Their Own eight times. (You guys . . . 8 TIMES.) I love this story (obviously) and connect so much to this group of women who risked a lot to live their dreams. I hung up [...]
