Wouldn’t it be great to have Angela show up in person at all our homes every day to get us all up and moving? Unfortunately, that’s not really practical. (We did ask, but there’s that whole “you can’t be in more than one place at a time” thing.) So here are three things you can do—with or without Angela cheering you on—that will help you press into health and fitness:
- Start moving. That you move is more important than how you move. So in whatever way you can move: move. Even if it’s just a little bit every day. As Angela says, there is freedom in your movement.
- Find joy. Celebrate the fact that you can move at all. (Some people can’t.) So even if all you can do is wiggle a finger, wiggle that finger with all the joy you can muster. You—and your finger—will be happier for it.
- Tell someone. It’s all too easy to let things slide when you’re the only one who knows what you committed to do. (Don’t ask us how we know. Just trust us that we do.) That’s where an accountability partner can make all the difference. Tell someone your plan and invite them to check in with you. Knowing that you’ll have to report on your progress is a huge motivator.
